Hello, I am attorney Cosmo Bloom, Board Certified Specialist in Civil Trial by the Florida Bar. It is my honor and single-minded focus to apply the expertise I have gained trying cases in the courtrooms of Florida and New York, helping victims of negligence win a full measure of justice. The insurance companies need to know that if they do not give a claim the respect it deserves, jurors will be presented with the key evidence and asked to award full and fair compensation for making an injured plaintiff whole.
I grew up in the United Kingdom of Great Britain but came to this incredible and beautiful country for higher education. During my college years, I transitioned from emergency road service dispatcher to insurance claims adjuster and investigator. After graduating from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, I tried cases in New York on behalf of both injured victims as well as insured defendants and insurance companies. After my wife and I brought our young family to Florida, I represented both plaintiffs and defendants. I gained valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate claims, as well as the strategies and tactics used by the defense to try to minimize monetary recoveries. After conducting numerous jury trials, in 2012 I underwent the rigorous process of becoming board certified by the Florida Bar. This involved documenting the results of more than 15 trials, passing a stringent review by other attorneys and judges, and a comprehensive and tough, written examination. Thus, I was found to have the special knowledge, skills, and proficiency, as well as the character, ethics and reputation for professionalism, to be board certified in civil trial law.
After many years of representing a large insurance company and its insured drivers and vehicle owners, I ached to pivot to helping those injured in automobile crashes and other tragic events. I am very grateful that Dan Newlin provided me with the opportunity to join his superb roster of attorneys.
