Hi, my name is Alex Steele-Duff, and I want to thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I grew up in a military family and moved to Central Florida in middle school. I attended Florida State University, where I graduated Cum Laude. I followed my passion for the law to Barry University School of Law, where I graduated in the top 15% of my class. While in law school, I developed a passion for public service and philanthropy. I began my legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Seminole County, where for four years, I successfully tried scores of cases defending clients accused of misdemeanor and felony offenses.
I then joined a large Central Florida law firm where I represented some of the country’s largest insurance companies and their insureds. For many years, I served as the Senior Trial Counsel for a major insurance company defending the insurance company and their insureds in court.
My entire legal career has been in the courtroom, defending both the “little guy” and the “big guy.” When Dan asked me to join his team of litigators to again defend those in need, I jumped at the opportunity to use the skills I honed in defending the insurance companies to defend those that have been injured by those same entities. My background and experience have helped me to become a seasoned civil trial attorney as well as gain the knowledge and insight into the way insurance companies think and act. I will use this experience to help you when going into battle against powerful insurance companies.
Outside of work, I am very involved in the Orange County Teen Court program and am a long-time member of the Orange County Bar Professionalism Committee. I am a former Board Member of Orange County Teen Court, Teen Alternatives and the Board of Trustees for Mennello Museum of Art. I am lucky to be married to my college sweetheart and we have two beautiful daughters that keep us quite busy.
