Hi, I am Joseph Scarpa, Jr. And thank you for taking time to read about me and my qualifications. I am lifelong Florida resident and very proud to have called the Central Florida area my home for most of my life. I grew up in a small town and was fortunate to have parents as role models who exemplified the values of integrity, and helping others. When I am your lawyer, no one will work harder to get you the justice you deserve.
After high school, I decided to leave my comfortable surroundings and moved to Tallahassee, where I attended Florida State University. After graduating, I began working with individuals recovering from emotional and psychiatric issues, assisting them in finding and maintaining gainful employment.
When I became a lawyer, I knew I wanted to assist people who needed a good lawyer. I began my career at the Office of the Public Defender, where I ensured individual rights were safeguarded in all criminal matters. Most of my time was spent in front of a judge or jury arguing my client’s case.
I was so successful at being a trial lawyer that the Department of Children & Families asked me to become their lead counsel. There, I protected the most vulnerable and innocent members of society, our children. With the assistance of the dependency court system, I worked tirelessly to reunite parents and their kids.
I left DCF to practice accident and injury law and have done so for the past 18 years. When Dan hired me, he told me that customer service and attention to detail are the two things that our clients deserve and need – I take that to heart every time I speak to a victim that was injured due to the negligence of someone else.
