Hi, I’m Michael Donsky, a Board Certified Civil Trial lawyer. My legal career began in 1980 when I went to law school at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I focused my legal education on trial work and completed an internship at the Public Defenders office. After law school, I worked for the Public Defender’s office for five years. I gained valuable trial experience, defending the rights of people accused of crimes. For the past 25 years, I have exclusively litigated bodily injury claims, and I have represented injury victims and insurance companies. I use my knowledge of how insurance companies evaluate and defend injury claims to the benefit of my injured clients. Knowing their tactics helps me get the best results for my clients, either through settlement or at trial. I’ve successfully represented thousands of clients.
While attending law school in Gainesville, I met a young court reporter. Jennifer and I have been married ever since and have raised two wonderful sons. Gainesville has been my home since law school. When we have spare time, our family enjoys the natural beauty of Florida. We hike, bird watch and kayak. I’m a big gator fan.
When you hire a lawyer for an injury claim, you should choose a specialist, someone who is an expert in personal injury law. I attained Board Certification in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar in 2001. Only a small percentage of lawyers in Florida are Board Certified as a specialist in Civil Trial Law. It requires a review of the cases you’ve tried, recommendations from lawyers and Judges, and passing a day-long test. To maintain Board Certification, you must re-certify every 5 years, which I have done three times.
